Privacy Policy

Innerwink is a calm daily moment for yourself: one scene, four choices and a short reading. This policy explains what data the app and this website handle, why, who helps us process it, and how you stay in control.

In short

We keep this simple and collect only what the app needs to work.

  • There is no sign-up. The app creates an anonymous account for you, with no email address or password.
  • Usage analytics are off by default and only start if you allow them. You can withdraw that choice at any time.
  • There are no ads, no ad tracking, and we never sell your data.
  • Your readings never use your gender, country, age or other profile details.
  • You can export your data, delete your choices, or delete your account and data inside the app.

What data we process

Depending on how you use Innerwink, we process the following.

  • Anonymous account identifier: created automatically with Firebase Authentication so that your history belongs to you. It is not linked to your name or email.
  • Link with Apple (optional): if you link your account with Sign in with Apple, Apple provides an identifier for that link and Firebase stores it with your account. We do not request your name or email. It is used only to bring back your history and subscription after a reinstall or on a new device. Deleting your account removes the link.
  • Your activity in the app: the choices you make, the readings you see, items you save and your reading progress.
  • Optional profile details: a display name, age range, gender or country, only if you choose to enter them. They are not used to write or choose your readings.
  • Settings: your language, time zone, reading preferences, interests and reminder preferences.
  • Notification data: a device token, only if you allow notifications, so we can send your daily reminder.
  • Subscription data: if you subscribe to Innerwink+, Apple tells us the product, dates and status of your subscription and a random identifier that links the purchase to your anonymous account. We never see your card or payment details.
  • Support messages: the email address and message you send us when you ask for help.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and technical information about the app (Firebase Crashlytics). They do not contain your readings or messages.
  • Usage analytics: only if you allow them (see below).

Usage analytics

Analytics are off by default. They only start after you switch on "Allow usage analytics" under Profile > Settings > Privacy and data, and you can switch them off again at any time. Allowing notifications does not turn analytics on.

When on, Firebase Analytics measures which screens and actions are used, tied to a pseudonymous identifier of the app installation. It does not include your name, email, profile details, messages, readings or your account identifier, and we do not use advertising features, Google Signals or remarketing. When you withdraw your choice or delete your account, we ask Google to delete the measurement data of that installation.

Why we use your data

We use your data only to:

  • provide the app: show your stories, keep your history and saved items, and sync your preferences;
  • send your daily reminder, if you asked for it;
  • process Innerwink+ purchases and decide access through our own servers;
  • answer your support requests;
  • keep the service secure and fix problems;
  • understand and improve the app, only if you allowed analytics.

Personalization and your readings

Your interests and focus topics only change the order in which stories are shown to you. Readings are never generated or selected using your gender, country, age or any other profile detail, and Innerwink does not diagnose, profile or label you.

Who helps us process data

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, under their own terms and safeguards:

  • Google Firebase: anonymous authentication, push notifications, crash reports and, if you allow it, analytics.
  • Apple: the App Store, purchases and the delivery of push notifications.
  • RevenueCat: reports about purchases and subscriptions for our own statistics. It receives your anonymous account identifier and purchase events. It never decides whether you have access; our own server does.
  • ElevenLabs: generates the voice narration of readings for Innerwink+ listening. Only the published text of a reading is sent. It is not your personal content and it contains nothing that identifies you. Each narration is created once and reused.
  • Hosting and storage providers, and an email delivery provider for support replies.

Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. Share cards you create from a reading contain only the reading text and artwork, never your name, email, identifiers or logo. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account exists. If you delete your choices or your account, the related data is removed as described on the "Delete account" page. A data export is prepared as a temporary file that expires after a short time. After an account is deleted we keep only a minimal technical marker of the anonymous identifier, so that the deleted account is not created again automatically. Because there is no sign-up, a lost device or a deleted app may mean your old history cannot be restored.

Your choices and rights

Inside the app, under Profile > Settings > Privacy and data, you can:

  • export your data;
  • delete a single choice, or all your choices;
  • delete your account and all your data;
  • switch usage analytics on or off.

Legal rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. Because accounts are anonymous, the app is the quickest way to use these rights. For anything else, contact us using the details below or the Help and support option in the app.

Children

Innerwink is not directed at children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, access to it is restricted, and your sign-in credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will publish the new version on this page and, when a change is significant, tell you in the app.
